FerventFox
MemberWell, the artist's comment on this page is "Reachin' for the Sky", so I'm presuming Mindes isn't being entirely honest here.

MemberGotta love mindes' expressions.
JCV
Member-taking pictures of someone pleasuring themselves without their permission
-posting said photos online again without permission
-trying to justify permission with the person's "sure its ok lol" response when they're shitfaced
I can't jive with this anymore.

MemberI feel like this might take a dark path
dreamndreamagain
MemberDrunk consent is not actual consent. You can only get that from someone who is able and authorized to make those kind of decisions for themselves. It doesn't matter if it's recorded, it still came from someone who was not quite themselves.
That's some quick-thinking though, I'll admit.
LunarShield
MemberOkay so if Mindes has a bad memory how come he remembers getting permission from Ambus to take pictures of him when he's unaware?
Either he is full of shit and has been stalking Ambus since they met.
Or he's telling the truth.
I say its the former.
Anger Incarnate
MemberReally.
REALLY.
...that's it?
Aaaaaand the plot just flew over Uncanny Valley, filled with potential drama that would've enhanced the "Journey towards the Final Destination"...
But I guess we're here now.
user 334951
MemberHe has video of the night so he doesn't forget that Ambus gave permission.
Yes, it is consent. You chose to get drunk. You know the consequences of getting drunk (acting stupid and making stupid decisions). If two people are drunk, and they have sex, and then one person decides to regret it and claims rape, despite them being consensual, is it rape, just because being drunk makes it easier to make stupid decisions? If you drunk drive, are you safe from the law even though you killed someone in your drunk driving, all because drunk driving makes you commit 'stupid decisions'?
IgnisShadowflame
Memberaccording to US law rape in either unconsensual or while one or both members are under the influence
dreamndreamagain
MemberThat's actually a good point, but I disagree on the grounds that one is simply not aware of the world around them while under the influence. Crimes committed in that state are inexcusable, and the guilty party should pay for them, but I simply do not support the notion that a drunk person's consent is valid.
kkpkkpk
MemberIf his memory is so bad, how does he remember where and when he got permission, getting the permission in the first place, and that he definitely has the getting of that permission on film?
Graham-Wolf
MemberThat's NOT how fucking consent works...
AquaTem
MemberOk but he was drunk
user 334951
MemberIt is. You are the one who chose to drink. No one forced Ambus to drink. No one forced him to suggest taking photos of himself. Ambus suggested it himself. NO ONE FORCED HIM. He gave consent, regardless of drunk or not. You choose to make stupid decisions by disabling your ability to think straight. Stop it with this shit that "I was drunk, I couldn't think straight!" That excuse won't save you when you chose to drunk drive or have drunk sex or say something you 'didn't mean to say'. You chose not to think straight. You're still RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS AND WORDS, whether it's sex or drunk driving and murdering someone because of it.
If you are drunk and you say "no", anything but "yes", you are not giving consent.
Black-Feather
Memberto make this clear: your consent is only valid if you are fully conchious of everything you do, aka sober. no drug influence, which includes Alkohole. if the "victem" gave consent in a drugged state, which also includes beeing drunk, no confirmation or consent of any Kind is valid in any way and said "victem" can use the law to go against whatever he agreed to while under the influence of drugs.
if someone intentionally mixes something in your drink or intentionally makes you drunk to get your consent, that would just be too easy if the law would not go that way. murderers would have a easy time legally killing someone because they drugged someone to sign a contract that allows that.
note: last Point is a example and is not nessesarily a aktual way a contract can be made. ist a exagerated example.
user 334951
MemberExcept there's no drugs here. And receipts can prove whether you bought drinks for yourself or not, as well as camera footage.
But if there are drugs involved, or spiking of alcohol to get someone to say something, then yes, it is non consensual.
Based on what evidence has been given so far, it's consensual. Assuming before facts are given are why people get in trouble. I'm going with the facts. Assuming that Mindes coerced Ambus isn't being fair on Mindes' part. The only truly scummy thing we KNOW is that he published things on the internet without consent. We know he took photos WITH consent until proven otherwise. You guys are too quick to jump the gun.

MemberCall it whatever you like~
It's such a lonely place for Ambus,
do you think he's that willing to lose his only friend?
In the first place, Mindes could have actually used pre-met pictures to isolate him
Xuxell
MemberThere's already photographic evidence that he's been stalking and taking pictures of him since before they were dating, so this is absolute bullshit.
BlueMoonstruckWolf
MemberAre we seriously gonna argue what a drug is now?
By definition, drugs are substances that cause physiological effects once introduced in body. Therefore, alcohol is a drug, illegal or not. (So is caffeine)
That aside, this is consent for something else, not sex. I do not know if the laws change at all, but there's still a difference between tipsy drunk and way too drunk to make a decision where you're lacking the boundaries you normally do/don't care about any consequences anymore.

Try to think (or learn) before you say things. You make it sound like you have no idea how reality, laws and moral in general works.

Member... went back to read your earlier comics and... gaslighting maybe?
Also I feel Mindes should have told him before hand, regardkess of any "consent" Ambus gave while drunk. Really enjoying the comics so far, regardless of how terrified I am~
