I wonder if people will call this a cop-out. Another comic done by this artist (an arcanine and an Eevee) also started skeptically but ended on a high positive note.

It makes a lot of sense for Ambus to react this way. He was incredibly lonely before—he’s not about to throw away a relationship like a well-adjusted ‘mon might. Mix that in with the fact they’ve been together for over six months and own a lot of context into each other, and you get his response. Also makes sense, in a way, for Ambus’s job to be “picking up the trash nobody else can.” Mindes was thrown away over and over again.

Ambus definitely knows Mindes could have lied. If I had to guess (wild speculation), the longer the relationship goes on the more Mindes will emulate behavior his past abusers applied to him. But it won’t be on purpose, and the conflict (plus the title) stem from them both struggling to stay in love despite the hangups.

It's possible this will end well, and it wouldn't be the worst thing if it does, but trying to be somebody's emotional crutch is rough, and in some instances it's just not worth it for your own mental and physical well being.

But I guess that's up to the individual, and everyone has their own limits.

I kept wondering way Mindes's tail was so short. I thought it was just the artist's style. Sadly that's not the case.

Shouldn't the Salamence be scared of the Clefairy? I mean Fairy are immune to Dragon type moves and their moves are super effective against Dragons types.

Um...size difference, and Salamence is capable of eating the Clefairy...I think that's a mite bit more pressing in that image by that implication alone.

Okay, I had a feeling there wasn't really anything malicious about those pictures, although the permission to take them is still dubious at best. I myself still wouldn't let it slide, but I would be willing to get over it since it really was a misunderstanding... on the grounds that publically posting them doesn't happen again.

it could be pre-fairy type clefairy, where clefairy was just a normal type

If you cut into the part [of the tail] that contains vertebrate, it won't grow back past that point.
(ex: Show horses with really short tails)

I'm concerned for Mindes; If having such a toll on his mind and memory that it was even taken advantage of by one of his more recent "mates"...
