Hhhmmmmm, so Ambus was at fault. Its super heartbreaking, yet it makes sense seeing how he's been ostracized by society and this is his first (?) relationship. Mindes was trusting of Ambus, and Ambu didnt have the willpower to fix Mindes.

To me, that's exactly why Ambus isn't at fault. You can't expect to "fix" your partner, that just creates a very unhealthy and unhappy relationship.
Mindes isn't particularly at fault here either, for having such a messed up past. This is a very good comic about what life, love, and emotions are. It's not always black and white

So it was bound to fail? It's bad that I don't understand lol

It isn't Ambus fauit at all,his partner had beat him and slapped him around which is NEVER ok.No matter what happened to him in the past.Ambus was in real danger of being hit again no matter how "fixed" Mindes ever seemed to be.
