    "Some friends you are"
"I knew I could count on you"

    ...
    Something does not compute

He resorted to guilt-tripping as a last resort, which worked because he knew his friends wouldn't be able to walk away from that.

  • I'm all for survival at any cost... But Farin barely has the right to say "some friends" when he's been lying to them for so long. Oh well, I hope they all make up in the end.

I honestly can't see anything wrong with keeping a relationship on the down-low. especially one that doesn't conform to social standards, considering that people have been making a huge deal about such things for a long time in some parts of the world.

Farin was right to keep it a secret because when found out he was immediately told that he was going to be executed for it. Worse case scenario played out, justifying his fear at telling people what he was doing.

He wasn't lying, seems like didn't pay much attention to the dialogue in the comic.

There's a difference between blatantly lying and lying-by-omission. The latter is on its face true, but conceals details to mislead.

Farin lied by omission, specifically because he knew there would be consequences for admitting to dating a dragon. Had his "friends" taken him at their word this chapter's plot would have been avoided.

  • The Elder is gonna be so pissed when he finds out how farin escaped, i can only imagine the look on his face, although i guess its a slight possibility that the elder won't do much about it
