Call it a shot in the dark but I'm wondering if maybe the customer was trying to protect her.

Like he knew what was going to happen and wanted to keep her out of it.

The robot angle seems really left field. We didn't have much indication this was set in the future prior to the last page.

Hopefully he does something with it.

Considering she smelled gun smoke its a implication he was aware of the situation to some degree to me. but its too early to draw that conclussion.
