She's actually always been like this, going as far back as many of t he images where she's laying with the Deer Prince before they are a couple. Seems he could see past that and really found her attractive, though it'd also explain why she had no issue hitting on him as she likely thought herself a little homely.

I thought she wore an eye-patch?
