MemberOK, what gives, here? I posted this picture pretty much as soon as it came out. I checked that there were no other duplicates posted. This is identical in size to what I posted. So, why was my post deleted as a duplicate?
I was confused the last time the same happened, a couple of days ago, but now I'm 100% certain that there were no other posts of the same picture; hell, the site informs me when that happens and won't let me post in the first place. So what is going on with this recent flood of pictures that are identical to what I posted, that were posted after I did, but still take the precedence?
It doesn't matter if I get a picture posted first or not, but arbitrary deletions trouble me.

Former StaffYour post was 1732058, this one is post 1732052. This was posted 6 images before yours was. Depending on the time of day that can be minutes or mere seconds apart. If the site isn't giving the red bar "Error: Post already exists" then it's because it isn't the exact same image, which could be a single pixel being FFA605 when that pixel on the other is FFA604 while all others are the same. It doesn't take much. When there isn't any real noticeable difference in quality between two posts then the older one is kept be it years older or a fraction of a second.

MemberAnd what confuses me about it is that after the last time the same thing happened with #1730266, I made sure to check that the picture hadn't already been posted, just before I did so.
Not only that, but my post already gathered several comments before this took its place; it doesn't usually happen to an obvious duplicate. Indeed, tomaej above calls this one the duplicate.
So what I'm trying to put together is, how can this picture be older, i.e. have a lower numbered ID, when it didn't exist yet when I posted my version of it? And how can the two be different, even by one pixel, when they come from the same source?
Again, I don't mind if somebody posts a thing first, it happens to me all the time. These odd deletions are what confuses me, here.

Former StaffHuh, over 500 apart. I'm not sure why it wouldn't have shown. If you're looking by checking the artists tag I'm not sure why it wouldn't be showing. If you're using a reverse image search it might not have logged that the picture was already on site.
In this case one came from Patreon and one came from Deviantart. I'm sure you know different sites handle data differently, some worse than others. The number of times I posted something from DA or SF to find out it was posted already from IB could be counted on my fingers but it's always annoying when it happens. If I never posted from FA I'd have 400 less deletions right now because in most cases if it's posted anywhere else it's bigger resolution and not compressed. Tumblr raw break also added about another 300. Aside from those two sites most the bulk of the rest is from takedowns and commissioners posting full res. I'm not sure what patreon and deviantart do diffrently and nor does this page
Users are fallible. If they make a claim it's best to look into what they say to either verify or invalidate what they said then either act or ignore as necessary.

ModeratorI transferred the tags and description before flagging the newer image.
Don't know if that would of attributed to it not registering for your upload, but it is possible they were uploaded at the same timeVersperus
Moderatoraccording to the times, the one that @Iago1 posted was posted 4 minutes after the one that @Millcore posted

MemberSuch a wonderful version of the “Justice is Blind,” figure.
I’m sure it would be awesome as a full size poster.
