  • Probably the number one character who fluff-kevlar sexualizes to a hardcore degree but never takes it that step further. Kinda wonder why

    She was intended to be the one and only character that wouldn't be depicted having sex, to appeal to the market that finds it easier to project themselves with a character with there being only the character and no one else, aka the pin up doctrine. There is an edit or two on u18chan of that in a few threads though, the only one I saw being in the main fk thread

    Seems rather counter-productive. I mean if she's supposed to be the "projection character" people latch onto, seems kinda weird to have her drawn in so many provocative and sexually situations and poses with her lustfully enticing the viewer. I mean its not bad of course if that's what fluff-kevlar is going for but if that is their reasoning, it feels disingenuous ya know? Like when someone claims they want to be desired for more than their physical forms, yet strictly dress in revealing and form-fitting attire to draw attention to their bodies. I dunno just how I feel is all

    well thought out reasoning

    I'd say it kinda "evolved" over the years. Comparing past art to more recent stuff, ARA's certainly become less sexual as far as psychology goes. Poses are a little more restricted or "accidental", expressions are more surprised/unhappy, etc.

    You can also make the argument that it's non-canon. ARA's portrayal is generally an innocent one, of a naive, vulnerable robot who doesn't understand emotions. Most sketches show her as casual or distressed, and Ayn seems to trick her into doing slightly lewd shit as a joke. Long story short, she's just not programmed for that stuff.

    That being said, I'd kill for a long-term canon thing, like a comic series. Even though that would take a metric fuckload of work. The universe is kinda cool, and it seems like a shame to keep it restricted to ask blogs and pinups.

    TL;DR Cat robot not like sex. Fluff has made this increasingly more influential on her character and depictions over the years

    Fair dos. I mean in no way shape or form am I saying "The artist must draw this character fucking another character" because that's just dumb. Very dumb. But I dunno, just doesn't feel... genuine to me is all. But not gonna go any further than that. I know stating anything that isn't purely praise, even if its just trying to understand an artist's perspective, is severely and utterly frowned upon here and I don't want to get flagged for trying to have a conversation

    Not sure if any badmins would care about it, but I know fk himself never spergs out about anything, he even chats on the main u18 thread with all his pirated art sitting right there. If we're lucky he might even respond here

    Not sure...

    Yeah I post here all the time. To put it simply;
    the more I drew ARA and developed her character and story in my head, the more innocent and tame her art became over the years. Even stuff like this runs along the rails of "cheesecake" or "fanservice" than outright smut.

    Why? I dunno. Just didn't want to I guess? I hate for the simple answer but that's really the jist of it. She just never struck me as an OC I wanted hardcore stuff of. If you want a more thorough explanation...I thought it was fun to have just one OC for once that I could have in this "middle ground" position of adult work, where, nudes and cheesecake and stuff are fine, but I don't go further than that because I felt that that's kind of what makes her unique?

    You know like when you see hot art(or photos) of people with clothes peeling down or slightly/almost cut-off and revealing? You know it can still be hot? Or porn, where the angle or clothes or something censors it, you don't see what happens but you -know- it's sexy stuff? That's the -kind- of feeling I think is fun to play around with conceptually with ARA and her art. That feeling of mild attraction that gets you intrigued in a warm, diaphragm kind-of-way instead of that boner-loin-surge kind of way outright smutty and slutty gets you.

    Which is also fun, of course, I just feel I have characters better suited to that. In addition, ARA is generally innocent herself, and a large part of her story/character revolves around developing that in a sensible way for AI, which is different than developing it for an organic, like a girl's first time or curiosity or something. So even that, I have better characters suited towards.

    I hope that kind of makes sense! I'm glad people like her. Nothing wrong with finding her hot, haha.
