That's actually a nice metaphor.
For three panels, it portrays Nick in a dark tunnel, but at the end, he sees the light.
And his light; Judy Hopps, smile and all.

She's there... of course, she is there. Judy would always be waiting for him.

Bit of the reverse of the movie with Judy in the dark tunnel when she's apologizing; and stepping out into the light when nick forgave her
