The two comics are not canonically related.

Gelus came about because of a random joke in some chatroom about drawing a cake hybrid, with frosty colours cuz that'd be funny. Then it kinda spontaneously turned into a new comic x3

It's possible Gelus is somehow related to Ammodytes, maybe she shagged a feral cat at some point. But I can't really think of a way to fit that into the story meaningfully. So it's up to the imagination :O

The two brothers that did hatch from the Ophidian Awakening comic look pretty iced & frosted themselves. Oh, but they did still have legs. Poor Gelus doesn't have legs.
