TL;DR - the "pain" is glossed over and replaced with pleasure.

Long answer: Cooking vore (as with most extreme kinks) relies heavily on suspension of disbelief. In this case, the pain they'd normally be feeling is pleasure thanks to them being willing prey. It's a common mechanic that's used to "explain away" the pain. I personally prefer unwilling and discomfort/pain but for this story I went with the willing stereotype.

Think of it, if you will, the more willing one is, the less painful and more pleasurable it will be. I personally don't care too much for that idea and just prefer to think that they're reveling in their end, knowing it won't be long, trying to enjoy one last orgasm before expiring.
