"Changelog"

v3.0:
Thirstchasm: Final Chung Edition

Additions:
-New splash screen thanking Ko-Fi supports for getting TC this far.
-New Wolf Pack ambush room.
-Props that spawn on the ground
-Know-it-All and Monstermind skills
-Naughtilis Boss Fight
-New NPC mechanic, with NPC negotiation and dialogue.
-Bryan and Ashley (NPCs)

Changes:
-Made the Tentacle ambush exclusive to the Factory level.
-Blunt Blows now topples enemies for a longer time.
-Balanced the Alpha Wolf boss fight.
-Secondary levels are now 8x8, instead of 9x9
-Killing toppled/stunned enemies rewards the player with 1 EXP.
-Defeating bosses rewards the player with 3 EXP.
-First time being hit in a new room will topple the player.
-There is now text telling whether an enemy is toppled or stunned.
-Distinct sound when an enemy is about to attack.
-Boss rooms now spawn adjacent to the ending room, and no longer spawn on the main path.
-Passive enemies now have a chance of walking around aimlessly.
-Minor improvements to map generation.
-Keeping your clothes on doubles the EXP you earn.

Bugfixes:
-Fixed the problem with ambush room QTEs allowing you to press RIGHT and not lose.
-Fixed a problem with pressing the action button when prompted, and causing the player to use their active ability at the same time.
-Fixed issue with destroying two enemies with one dom.
-Fixed an issue with leaving a room not returning the player's sword
-Fixed an issue with being knocked out of the room while out of HP.
-Fixed garbage collection issue. (Finally.)

_____________________________________________________
v2.1:
Off of hiatus - a small update to clean up for v3.0

Additions:
-Custom controls

Changes:
-Changed the QTE in ambush rooms, it now shows general direction arrows rather than telling you which key to press. (In order to be less confusing)
-Made unobtainable enemy animations more apparent in the Gallery menu.
-The game is now Flash-friendly again, meaning it's e621 compatible!

Bugfixes:
-Fixed the loop point on the main BGM (was looping incorrectly before, according to Dino.)
-Fixed the memory issue when doing multiple runs within a single session.
-Fixed the notification text getting stuck when pausing the game.

_____________________________________________________
v2.0:
Solidifying the game's design

Additions:

-Added a more procedural cumsplatter system, that randomly spawns small cumsplatters on the ground. Big cumsplatters now spawn under the player after fucking an enemy. If the player walks over a big cum splatter, they trail cum for a little while.
-Added passive enemies in trap rooms, attacking them makes them aggressive.
-Added EXP points, earned by either dominating enemies or winning ambush rooms.
-Added a skill system.
-Added 8 new passive skills, and 3 new active skills.
-Added a boss battle system.
-Added the Alpha Wolf boss fight.
-Added the Factory level
-Added a new ambush room
-Added the Gallery (accessible from the main menu)
-Added sound effects
-Added a new OST (composed by A Dinosaur, https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=183868)

Changes:

-Winning an ambush room no longer rewards the player with Energy.
-Losing an ambush room now rewards the player with Energy instead.
-Removed static cumstains baked directly into the tilemap
-Special rooms (Such as ambushes, the start room, boss rooms, etc.) now connect to all adjacent rooms. (Before they had a chance of walling themselves off from eachother, like how empty rooms do.
-Optimized the map generation code
-Ambush rooms are now completely optional, and no longer spawn on the main path between the start and exit.
-Game overs now play the submissive loop of the last enemy to attack the player. (Which means the original game over loop has been removed from the game - it isn't that good anyway, trust me.)

Bugfixes:

-Fixed a bug where when walking out of a room, if you turn around quick enough it causes the game to load the incorrect room.
-Fixed a minor bug where if you held up and down on a menu it'd cause some pretty funky animation problems
-Fixed a bug where the player was invulnrable while swinging their sword

_____________________________________________________
v1.1:
Fixing up the game for v2.0

Changes:

-Changed the hitboxes on the player's sword, making combat more "realistic" (rather than being able to hit enemies that are nowhere close to your sword)
-Shortened how long enemies stay toppled/stunned for.
-Changed the Kobold's attack hitbox, making it able to hit the player without needing to actually be overlapping the player.

Bugfixes:

-Fixed bug where enemies despawn when touching a toppled player, despite not triggering a scene.
-Fixed bug where ambush room quicktime events would generate the same keypress twice in a row, making it so that there were less actual keypresses needed. (Aka when you would get ambushes that'd only need 2 or 3 presses)
-Fixed bug where starting a new game too quickly would cause the game to softlock
-Enemies no longer stay toppled/stunned (among other things) when leaving and re-entering rooms
-Fixed bug where the player would continue to see ambush loops that they've already fully seen
-Fixed issue that caused everyone's antivirus to flip out. (a.k.a. I had to remove the exit button from the start menu)

I agree. You're doing great, Carpetwurm!

If anyone's looking for the NPCs, a message on the lower left should appear whenever you ascend to a new area. Ashley spawned on my 4th run, in Tunnels I.

    Good luck to you all!

  • Just recently got into the game, pretty fun. Got a really lucky run near the 30 minute mark; had macho + sword throw and monster mind. Made it a breeze unlocking all those scenes.

Nice job on the update, nice job on the game. Really looking forward to future content and more NPC/Boss fights~.

  • looks great so far. I did run into some minor bugs though. Nothing really worth mentioning except for a complete audio cutout that seemed to randomly happen when exiting to main menu. Not game breaking but I figured you'd want to be aware.

  • When starting a game and getting your clothes ripped off by enemies (and not by a room) the downloadable version crashes, so watch out!

  • Also I noticed a pretty massive glitch for the game, literally renders the game unplayable. If you say pineapple pizza is the best pizza, Bryan erroneously gets angry at it. I mean it is common knowledge that pineapple pizza is the superior kind

Anyone know how to get submissive with Bryan?

The animations depend on if they're happy or interested. I believe happy is dominant so try and just get him interested.

Happy leads to him domming, interested is him subbing. I think "Im lost" "musk" im going shopping later" are a few for making him happy

  • Okay, played through it, unlocked all possible animations. This is pretty good, I like it!

The Windows version did crash one me once, at the Factory-2 level.

Still can't get over how imaginative the "gelly" animation is. Not sure if I'd seen something like this. Would be cool to have a dom version for both gelly and rabbits.
The new wolf-ambush animations are pretty good too. The NPC scenes... well, at least the're also drawn pretty well. :D

No idea why everyone downvoted my first comment so much: as I said, I liked the game.

Also, sorry (not sorry :)) for being that straight guy, but... could anyone by any chance also recommend a similar game (with similar mechanic) but... you know... with females?

where is the music from? It sounds like it was ripped from a SNES game

As it turns out, the music was not ripped from an SNES game, but many of the samples were, and the music was carefully composed to stay within the limitation of SNES sound chip, notably careful imitation of the delay reverb.

Yep, while the samples are ripped from multiple sources it's entirely original. (Though a lot of games do that anyway, namely Undertale)

Quit the current run with ESC and start a new run. Repeat until the NPC spawns! "You see footprints trailing off somewhere..." should appear on the bottom left of the screen.

    @Carpetwurm
https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=183868 This the original .mptm file. It is not SPC compatible, but it could probably be translated to SPC with relative ease if you know how to do that sort of thing. The samples tell you what game they're from. The bass strings for example, are from Final Fantasy VI

EDIT: The song surpasses the 64KB limit of SNES music, so the song wouldn't work verbatim on an SNES, at least not without some optimization.

Another EDIT: The samples were decompressed in order to work right in a tracker file, and the original compressed samples thus took up far less space. Therefore, with the original BRR-compressed samples in hand, this could probably work on a real SNES. For more information, look up SNES BRR (bit rate reduction).

Also, as an aside, the graphics don't strictly adhere to the limitations of the SNES either.

...uh, yeah. I never said they perfectly adheared to the limitations of the system. I just said that "yeah the music uses samples from SNES games"

I was moreso going for a SNES-ish vibe, why would I try making something exactly to the SNES's limitations? (If I wanted to do that, I'd just make a SNES game)

I just thought it was cool that you figured out what it was (sort of) going for, I didn't expect you to start nitpicking the everliving fuck out of it...

I'm so sorry! I posted that comment before I realized that you are the creator of the game! I mean, by my earlier logic, Undertale and Shovel Knight would be bad games because they didn't strictly adhere to the limits of the NES/SNES, which is absurd! Also, programming for old consoles is difficult, to say the least. Please forgive me for being overly analytical.

I was in the same boat a good six years ago, so I feel you. To be honest, you'll have much better luck trawling around Japanese games for straight content. About the only western games that aren't primarily gay (that I can think of off the top of my head) are Cookiedraggie's Kincaid, Urielman's SpaceEscape, Love Potion Disaster by the Zeta Team, and Kyrieru's works. The catch is that all of the above are side-scrolling, not top-down games.

Obviously, looking through eastern games has its own problems if you don't know the language. First you need to figure out what the hell you're after, then either learn moonrunes, start machine translating, or get very good at brute-forcing your way along.

neat! thanks a lot. Side scrolling is totally fine, I was more interested in furry-themed games that have similar "lewd" mechanic. I'm kinda waiting for the "Predation", but it's in a very early stage.

Yeah, don't like Japanese games very much, but thanks anyway.

  • This game is awesome! I can't even express how much I love it
I almost completed it and unlocked all the scenes. It worked flawlessly so far
Every single animation is just freaking hot, and I love that even getting dominated is generally positive and restores energy since in many games it means game over. Also love the "play with one hand, jerk with the other" mechanic (in games like this you often have to use the mouse, making it kinda difficult to enjoy yourself)
So yeah, you totally nailed it to say the least! Can't wait for more content!

Lusty labyrinth female version here on e621 is ok, although there are futas and dildos so. . .

  • I hope this game doesn't get forgotten, it's potential is quite good.

I was thinking about the XP/Health gains, and I support your decision on making losing less punishing, but what if excess XP gets converted into Health for all Domination scenes?

It would reward good players that prefer not to 'lose' to gain health without taking anything away from less proficient players.

Unfortunately it's been put back on indefinite hiatus, although I'd maybe take it with a grain of salt since that's what he said before there was even an exp system, and look where we are now. I'm hopeful, but nobody can know for sure.

Actually, I put it on hiatus after the EXP system lol. (That was 2.0) TC has a vague chance of coming back, but it'd only happen if someone else took the reigns of development (though I'd still want to be involved and do the new art/animations, ofc.) Issue is that no one trustworthy enough (or skilled enough) has really showed interest so far, so yeah... Plus, it'd need to be ported to a new engine like GMS or GMS2, which I personally don't have the time for considering I'm moreso focused on West Hole, and don't really care much for furry porn anymore.

If I knew the language I'd be willing to help but, I don't think I ever learned ACtion script which is what I imagine this would have been done in since, you know, Flash version and all - correct me if I'm wrong though.

to recover energy, you have to be submissive with a monster and for the alpha wolf, wait till he stops moving before swinging, or you can stun him like with the regular wolf
