I'm sure we all know more or less that female hyenas have pseudo-penises. There are plenty of characters solely based off the idea. What bugs me about it is the knot bit. From what little research I did, didn't see any mention of such a thing. Didn't know they were retractable, so til that.

They're more or less supposed to be her "pseudo-balls" female hyenas have those as well, I probably should have put them more centered. But I couldn't think of a good way to fit them on the outside otherwise it wouldn't be very aesthetically pleasing

I studied biology and have had one or two lectures on this subject during my studies. The shape and everything is spot on so this is really how their anatomy works!

The only thing that you could consider not 'anatomically correct' is the fact that females don't actually fuck others with it - it's never been recorded IIRC anyway.

They're supposed to be the fused labia, not part of the pseudopenis itself. This is just going to perpetuate the view that hyena dicks have knots.

I just think that on ground as unbroken as the pseudopenis in furry porn, misleading elements have more influence than they would otherwise. Hyena as it is are already frequent victims of Everything is a Dog Syndrome.

You're right, its unbroken ground, such unbroken ground that few artist seem even willing to tackle it, if you looked through any of my work you'd realize this is the 4th iteration of hibiscus's genitals since I've been an artist on here, I'm still developing her character. Its not fair to act like I've upended hyena porn just by going through a creative process. I absolutely refuse to apologize for my artistic interpretation.

That's cool, I'm not asking for an apology for anyone's art.

I do appreciate that you're willing to go further than "male-functional penis" for your character though, even if I don't agree with elements of the presentation.

I want her genitals to be as close to the real thing as possible, but I still want it to be pleasing too look at, I agree, the knot is incorrect. I'm not afraid to change my characters in respect to my own desires, but a pair of balls tacked between her asshole and her vagina is not my idea of pleasing, I'm still learning, my art will improve, and in a matter of weeks I'll make this look like old news.

Would it work if they weren't fantasy-porn-sized balls? There's not any actual gonads there, by my understanding it's just slightly puffed out skin tissue and fur.

That is somewhat close for both males and females, but the shape is all wrong. Functionally it is about right. The females have a pseudopenis, and the males have a penis that both come out of the area where a vagina would be. The females even have to give birth through the thing.

You're mostly-right until you said "where a vagina would be."

They're both where a penis would be. Males have to squat underneath and angle their dick upwards and backwards to get in, and the birth canal has a bend in it because it has to go around the pubic bone.

i appreciate the attempt to educate, but if you're taking liberties that make the information incorrect you shouldn't be advertising it as fact :/

Yeah, it was late and I chopped up a longer post trying to not be too wordy. The female, when fully retracted ends up in pretty much the normal place for a vulva. the males end up being closer to where a horse dick would be. In fact, they are functionally similar in that case. As I recall, the males would suck up farther as well when exposing their scent glands.
