And every single game I've had since her launch has had a yumi -- I know that's common for brand new champs but I have the strangest feeling she'll continue to be popular.

Yuumi is really a champ that requires two things...A the right partner to lane with as there are ADCs that work better with her than others. Ashe is a good one I think since all that slowing will make getting to Ashe a pain more so with Yuumi speeding her up and healing.
Another issue is that well got to have a person you can work with, solo q with a Yuumi is...an experience to say the least. Also building her AP damage seems to work better than the usual support items in my opinion.

I know this is late, I haven't played much recently and I'm pretty casual on League, but I've won almost every game I've played with her and I feel she's just a very very unique one of a kind champion that requires playing with friends and having good cooperation and understanding of her kit and function to truly get use out of, and people to play with that you can trust will know, understand and be able to make use of the advantages she gives to attached allies. I think early on she was just very hard for people to grasp but she in no way feels underpowered
