Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.
Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.
Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

MemberI don't understand how posts like this are controversial. As a bisexual, I think it's a good idea for all groups to be represented!

MemberStraights are represented every other month of the year.
"Gay pride was not born of a need to celebrate being gay, but our right to exist without persecution. So instead of wondering why there isn't a straight pride movement, be thankful you don't need one."

MemberStonewall was a riot against the police, without it LGBT people wouldn't even be posting here, let alone have rights. Fuck you and this bullshit statement. Thanks for (conveniently) ignoring my post about trans people being assaulted btw. It helps you have a Ralsei avatar, for some reason people with that character as their avatar have tended to have the worst fucking takes in my experience.
By the way, love that I got a negative record for calling someone an imbecile when there is straight up hate speech in these comments.

MemberThe funny part is that everyone assumes LGBT+ citizens have all the rights their straight counterparts have when we don't. We don't have the protection against anti-discrimination. Some of us don't live in areas where people don't discriminate against us. In my state, I can legally be kicked out of an apartment or even fired for being gay and the law won't side with me. Until I we have full protections, we won't stop marching. Also... pride month has never been about LGBT people being better than straights. I have never felt superior. In fact, I am constantly treated in a way that makes me feel inferior. We cannot stop at gay marriage. We have to go all the way to make things equal. Once we have all of our protections and full rights, then we can speak about the idea of hetero phobia (which, tbh, I very rarely see, and if I see it, it is because that person has constantly been hurt for being gay. Stop the homophobia and the hetero phobia will have no reason to exist).

PrivilegedJust because, where ever you might be, gay people seem to be perfectly accepted and gay pride seems redundant doesn't mean that that's universally true for all of us.

I didn't see any "homophobe" nor "heterophobe"
And the only one disrespecting others was you.
