Posted here is a time when Tamara Fox, a young courier (or perhaps scout) in the Raj army has been captured and carried back unwillingly across the Cascades to an abandoned barn west of Ellensberg, WA. The Coyotes and the Raj/Foxes frequently ‘go at it’ with little quarter given. The no-man’s land between the two nations is the Cascade Mountain Range, again and again and again. The Coyote nation controls Eastern Washington, and the Raj Kingdom (its citizens actually being the Foxes and the Raj nobility) controls all of Western Washington and the Olympic Peninsula.

This ruined barn is all that is left of property once held by an older Coyote farmer. The lands this far west have been abandoned by the Coyotes, due to the frequent raiding of their enemy the Raj; it no longer being viable to try to provide protection to the Coyotes who once lived here. A fact that Raven, the cavalry captain in this image, is well aware of – this barn is all that is left of what he would have inherited, had the times been more peaceful. His mother, and her father, died on this land. Consequently Raven hates and despises the Raj for the pillaging they have done in the past, and he is all too happy to destroy a young Raj warrior’s future by taking her virginity for himself.

Raven is himself a product of rape, being part Fenrir (a rare breed in this part of the world) and a Coyote female. He knows that when this current war ends, as it eventually will, the Coyote will no longer have a use for him. But for now he is a young aggressive captain during time of war and he finds his skills and force of will much sought after.

The event depicted takes place late Spring of the year 3916 C.E. Raven and his men have just returned from a raid upon the western lands, Puget Sound, in the Raj kingdom. They and their horses were not expected, the snow still being heavy in the mountains - Raven used the obscure trick of equipping his horses with their own snowshoes so they could traverse the mountains early. This barn he uses to cache supplies; so he and his men have returned for a brief rest, a hot meal, and some personal pleasure before proceeding further towards the nearest Coyote settlement to turn over their prisoner.

One of the men has taken a tool kit and modified the bit to Tamara’s deceased horse; now she wears it so as to stifle her cries. The vixen is obviously in for a rough few hours. Her look of horror is due to the realization she no longer has a future with her people, a Raj warrior being expected to ‘fall upon one’s own sword”, much like the fabled Japanese soldiers of the ancient Great War. Also her virginity was needed for her wedding night; a ceremony which will now not take place.
