Fur does not protect from sunburns. My little chihuahua Lucy can attest to that :(

Hair doesn't, either. If you don't put sunscreen in your hair (or wear a hat), your scalp will get sunburned if you spend a lot of time outside.

A sunburned "head" is one of the worst things that can happen to a male...that's why we have sheaths and foreskins (very high SPF)...
