MemberWhich anything having to do with the star wars prequals is not.

Memberdont be hating on star wars its a fucking awesome saga
Ratty
MemberI would have agreed with you in 1999. But the prequels are terrible. Even as a kid I realize Ep. 1 was awful. Darth Maul, really? The guy had like 2 lines and 7 minutes of screentime (if that) before he was killed. The way he was marketed before the movies release, you'd have thought he was going to be a major villain in all 3 movies. Dooku didn't fair much better. Everything about the prequels is an affront to the original trilogy, and good movie making in general.
CamKitty
MemberSee, having grown up in that era, the only time Darth Vader was a good villain was in 4. He was disney villain cartoony evil in 5 and predictable in 6. So they had nothing to lose for villains. This is just Rose Coloured glasses, AGAIN
Ratty
MemberLol wat. Disney cartoon evil? Predictable? Maybe if you'd seen the terrible prequels first and thus lost the entire impact of the reveals/twists and turns of the originals plots since the prequels stole from them so shamelessly.
But I don't have to explain or justify why the prequels are terrible. As everyone knows in the interests of good filmmaking (and creepy jokes about murder and pizza rolls) RedLetterMedia has done it for me - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxKtZmQgxrI
And you say he was absurdly evil in TESB, yet Anakin MURDERS CHILDREN in both 2 and 3. Consistency, what's that?

People, we've been through this before.
This site isn't strictly 100% furry, and the no_furry tag exists for a fuckin' reason.
CamKitty
MemberDisney cartoon evil is not being true evil. It's cruella de ville killing for the evulz. First film he was fine, second film, chocking everyone who sneezed wrong. I'm not defending the new ones, I'm saying people remember the old ones through nostalgia

Memberyou sir made me laugh
Ratty
MemberEh I still don't understand how you get that. His motivations in the TESB were pretty clear. He was ruthless and evil yes, but not absurdly so. (Like Anakin was in Ep. 3) He killed military officers who were incompetent as an example, he tortured Han Solo for information then froze him to insure the machine wouldn't kill Luke. He was an asshole to Lando because he needed control of cloud city. Don't see any killing/being evil for fun there.
Naruto-Kun
MemberStar wars the clone wars the cartoon series... Ya'll can have your arguments about the star wars movies, but we all know the cartoon is the shit :P
Daneasaur
MemberMinor correction: Tortured Han Solo to send ripples of his agony to Luke to lure him to Cloud city. Han even stated that they never even asked him any questions.
Man, FUCK that series!
The CGI series were ass...
The actual cartoon series that was fairly short and explained some events between 2 and 3 was cool though.
Flare
MemberThe 3d animated series was great, I could fap to Ahsoka whenever that was on.
Ratty
MemberAhh right. I was way tired yesterday. Thought I recalled a line about questioning Solo but I'm probably wrong. (This gives me another excuse to rewatch it sometime soon since I recently got the original/un-recut version widescreen VHS collection.) And either way luring Luke was the main purpose of capturing them.

Sith Lords never talk much, they always have a purpose, and prefer to solve problems with actions and violence as opposed to words, and Darth Maul's purpose was to be Sidious' assassin. Of course he wasn't very chatty. The worst thing about the prequels was the casting of Natalie Portman as Padme. Her method of acting consists of standing around with her mouth open, shuffling her feet.

Doesn't seem so.

MemberI LOVE the REAL Star Wars stuff! I just started getting into it, but now Disney is putting condoms on everything, like it always does, before anally FUCKING THEM UP!
Remember when that planet got blown up by the Death Star? You notice how a lot of people, especially Yoda, were able to sense the planet's destruction through the force. But then, in this NEW movie done by Disney, there are more than just a mere couple of planets being destroyed by a rip-off of the Death Star. Shortly after, nobody senses ANYTHING! Not even an eyelash is batted at the fact that 7 planets were just annihilated!! That's weak shit, Disney!!!
BTW, I love the picture!๐๐ป
SerathDarklands
MemberWell, we don't really have anyone at the time who is Force-sensitive enough to really feel the pain of that kind of loss. Leia is only marginally trained in Episode VII, Luke is in exile, we don't see Kylo Ren's reaction, and Rey is still just realizing she's a Force Adept.
In A New Hope, Ben/Obi-Wan was an actual Jedi from before Order 66, who had been well-connected to the Force his whole life. Also, we don't meet Yoda in A New Hope. He's introduced to us for the first time in The Empire Strikes Back.
