Seraphon Commission

Boy, was this picture ever a workout, heh. Let's run down the list of things that gave me a bit of trouble! Just for funsies. :P

First thing's first, I was asked to draw kitty boy spread eagle'd, which always poses a problem with limited page space. When I draw, I'm used to drawing characters so they fill up the entire page, so fairly sizable. Have a character standing up, they have to be somewhat smaller to fit in the page. Arms above their head? Even smaller still.

That's essentially what a spread eagle is. On top of that I needed room for a background, and I couldn't let the character run off the page because at least one of his feet needed to be in view, which meant he had to be real damn small, at least compared to what I'm used to. So that made the entire character drawing and colouring process complicated.

He also wanted the chains on the character to be somewhat loose allowing for some room to move, which meant I had to put more thought into how the character would resist and pull against them, and made the pose a tiny bit more tough to figure out.

The background itself was also fairly tricky, with me not really being al that great at them yet, and still floundering a bit with the new paper I'm using. Indoor scenes are also always particularly tricky for me.

So yeah, I had a few issues here. x3 Though while it may sound like I'm complaining, I actually rather enjoyed the process for the most part. It was tough, but fairly fun. I hope it's acceptable!

Quick note- the scanner brings out the texture of the paper a little bit more than is actually there. It's certainly noticable, but not quite that bad, heh. Also, while there's nothing directly dirty going on, I'm rating this mature for the bondage and general fetishy nature of the whole thing. I dunno, just makes me feel more comfortable that way.
