News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

  • This series introduced plenty of confusing new feelings and a lot of them had less to do with Renamon than with the absolute cosmic horror story that was the final arc. How come everyone remembers Renamon and nobody remembers all that?

I'm not sure who else you're referring to, but for me it was Sasha Phyronix, and that was when I was six.

Tamers was by far my favorite digimon series. Never gonna forget watching Jeri go from depressed to catalyst to eldritch nightmare from the digital world. It still trips me up that D-Reaper was basically just a failsafe program. Reminds me of Rasputin from D2

    Krystal?

I think the joke(?) is that those character all predate Renamon. Krystal, although she might've existed in concept, didn't make her debut until 2002 in Star Fox Adventures, whereas Renamon debuted in Tamers in 2001. Only a year, but still after the rise of Renamon

Pretty sure M'Ress, from the Star Trek animated series, started me down the path that lead me here.

  • Renamon, Impmon, Antylamon, various Pokemon, Minerva Mink, Yakko Warner, Tod and Vixey, Maid Marian, Robin Hood, Bambi, Fox McCloud, Krystal, Klonoa, Rouge the Bat, Shadow the hedgehog, Tails the fox, Sly Cooper, Carmelita Fox, Ratchet from Ratchet and Clank, Crash and Coco Bandicoot, Tiny Tiger, Spyro and many characters from the Spyro games, Nick Wilde, Toriel, and many more to name a few of my favorite furry characters. But I kinda knew I was a furry before ever even knowing what a furry was when I first watched the original space jam. Lola Bunny made everyone a furry.

  • That's a lot of character mentions, nice to get some wholesome perspective like that :D
Surprised no-one said Tony the Frosties corn flakes tiger, that used to be a go-to example even AnthroCon had in their "what's the furry fandom" info thing, but I guess that just goes to show just how many there are xD

The series never finished its TV run where I was as a kid, so I only saw the first 10ish episodes. I really ought to revisit it one of these days

Holy cow, you weren't kidding about the "old."

I remember this one, but I'd be surprised if younger folks are familiar with it. Are the classic cartoons still making the rounds on TV?

(Especially ones like this, that didn't star Bugs/Daffy/etc.)

    I honestly wouldn't know I haven't had traditional t.v in over a decade

  • I think XJ9, the girls from Totally Spies, and Lola Bunny where my cartoon crushes. I remember watching Digimon but it's only now with internet "prawn" does she light something within. (That and also after playing Amorous and doing Skye's route)

  • There was already something ... "unique" going on in your noggin if you were more attracted to Renamon than Rika at the age of twelve. You can't always blame the characters for you becoming a furry.

I wonder where you can watch digit on?
I’m assuming it’s a Pokémon…. I wanna say ripoff but I feel like there is effort in it so I’m holding it back because I haven’t watched it.

Honwstly, I stopped watching partway through the final part of the second digimon. Only really watched the first one completely, but still remember it decently well. Also by far the weirdest evolution lines exist in digimon. I should probably watch all of the digimon series again. It's be a while.

It's actually a Tamagotchi spinoff, of all things...

Season/series 3 is the animated television series "Digimon Tamers", which is approximately where Renamon originates from. That series had multiple story arcs, and the final story arc had digital eldritch horrors.

So, fun fact: That sequence was rotoscoped and they hired an actual stripper to perform the routine. There are pictures of them watching, during the shoot, online.

    I'm surprised they've mostly evaded rule 34
