I like how this version highlights the problems that arise from GIF.

The gradients are supposed to be subtle, but because there's still not enough colors to work with, you get color banding: clearly distinguishable boxes of colors where there should be smooth transitioning from one color to another troughout the whole area instead.

I remember this animation from one of his scraps, it was just a sketchout to how it would look in two frames, only in the original it was a cat I beleive. This animation in particular was the one I was really hoping to see, and I’m really glad he decided to make it. It turned out really well, and I’m happy because of it.
