MemberDifference is you could still transfer Pokemon from older games into Sun and Moon. The problem isn't that you can't catch them in Galar, it's that they made more than half the Dex unusable period. It's not entitlement to be mad about it especially when it was for stated reason that are proven lies.

MemberEven in the Monochrome Editions, with their limited Pokedex, you could still acquire out-of-local-dex Pokemon via the Dream World before postgame, and during postgame the Nat'l Dex became available. The Armament Editions don't have either option available to them full stop.
Not to mention EVERY generation's flagships has had a type that's woefully underpopulated, and the Armaments are no different.

MemberIn every primary game of the series, you could take any pokemon from the prior generation up. Sword and shield is the first to outright deny this after years upon years of allowing people to bond and keep their pokemon. Not sure where you got this info that sun and moon didn't let you do this, it does.
As for why this outrage has started, it's because of not only the false promises, but the general decline of pokemon games becoming more and more hand holding whilst having less and less content. People have been mostly quiet about it, but this blatantly lazy and poorly put together game was the breaking point.

PrivilegedIt's not just the lack of pokemon, it's the lack of care and effort, and the lack of respect they have for consumers. The dex cut is just the tip of the iceberg. There are plenty of accounts of people who weren't bothered by the dex cut at all (or only very little as long as the game was still fun), but chose not to buy because of the bold-face lies they told as justification for the cuts. The promises for improvements with the pokemon's animations, or redoing all the models, which are now 100% verified to be reused. If the dex cut actually served to make the rest of the game that much better, that would be one thing, but it clearly wasn't despite them claiming so.
In other cases, people have become disillusioned upon seeing the overall poor quality of the game. By that, meaning, the overall package being only marginally better, if not actually worse, than the previous 3DS games, despite the +50% price hike and no longer being limited by that ancient hardware. Bad AI, bad storytelling, lack of battle backgrounds, features missing that even Let's Go games had, bad online, doubling down on one-shot gimmicks despite saying how much work these games are, and an overall lack of polish to what is there.
It just all comes together to make people feel that Game Freak just doesn't really care about the games they make. They're the stewards for one of the top-selling premiere games tied to the largest multimedia franchise (of which they co-own) in the history of the world, and that's the best they can do?

Memberguess it all doesn't really matter anymore. the game's one of the fastest selling switch games to date (though that could be because of the fact they basically sell 2 of the same game at this point but since they lock things from another version a lot of people buy them both). just goes to show that people may whine but in reality it doesn't matter because the game was always going to sell insanely well regardless.

MemberNot really. It's actually LESS than Sun and Moon's selling, but the tabloids and IGN want you to think "it sells anyway" so that gamefreak and the pokemon company can coast along with no effort and never be accountable for doing such terrible things to their consumers.
That said, anyone who voiced their complaints and "bought it anyway" is part of the problem.
