Vampires don't have reflections because it is a sign that they have no souls, a.k.a. the body is just a hollow shell for a spirit of pure evil. Modern stories also say that they don't show up in photographs.

If you don't show up in something that captures light or reflects light, then how are we able to see them? Is it that our eyes can see more than just normal light? Our cameras have failed us.

The original reason they didn't show up in mirrors is that mirrors were made of silver, and silver is a pure metal. Something unpure (vampire) wouldn't appear in the pure substance.
