Description

"Liquid Courage Required"

Sketch of the 1091st page of TwoKinds.

Transcript

Sythe: There’s the table. Just ask it for whatever you want and it appears! If they have it.

Maren: Huh… handy. Could have used this at my tavern.

Maren: (Thoughts) Gods… am I really actually considering this? He said it wouldn’t be serious, so it doesn’t have to mean anything.

Maren: (Thoughts) But still! He’s a Keidran! Am I crazy?

Sythe: Maren, not to shoot myself in the foot, but I told you, it’s okay if you’re uncomfortable. I know humans don’t go this fast.

Sythe: We can just take it easy.

Maren: Ngh… Tell me, Wolfboy! Just how different are you from a human?

Sythe: Uh… huh? In what regard?

Maren: You know what I mean! How do you… compare?

Sythe: Um, I’m not really sure? But… I mean, I’m not wearing any pants right now…

Sythe: So…

Maren: Drinks! Yes! Need drinks!

  • Look's like Maren might actually get into bed with Sythe. Oo.

Know we won't actually see it if it does happen but I didn't think it'd happen. Know there's still the possibility of it not happening but now I'm more convinced that it could happen.

  • Im just a bit surprised as to how far this has gone. Twokinds hasnt shied away from the fact that sex happens, hell its made very clear that Flora and Trace bang fairly regularly, but I think this is the first time that we have seen an actual scene like this. Now if only we could see what Maren saw.

  • Maren be like: *notices your bulge* O//O

Sythe continues to impress me with his smoothness and confidence though.

  • I'm starting to think this is a counterpoint to the flora/trace relationship.

I mean it'd likely prove Trace and Flora are telling the truth about their kid.

That is... Unless... No... He wouldn't. Or would he...

Of course it's going to happen. This plot is nothing but predictable. (Prove me wrong, Tom).

So far, the most predictable thing has been for zero bedroom action. There are ways around showing anything, but he just won't go there. I really miss the good ol days of the edits!

Hey, that's what WE'RE here for! I'm sure there'll be fanart up the ass (quite possibly literally) of this exact moment none too long from now.

  • Seff or someone else who does twokinds porn often should do all the non drawn scenes in this part of the story, like this page from a better angle

  • I like how even though this is about sex, there are very few visual things that draw me to sex. This comic page is more about the two of them as a "couple" So I like that

  • I was legitimately shocked that he switched *BACK* after his trademark dramatic moment scene-switch. I don't think he's ever done that before so quickly. Maybe he's afraid some of his more rabid fans would be... very unhappy if he didn't get back to them soon?

Honestly, if they do actually have sex, we're obviously not going to see anything except maybe some speech bubbles from offscreen or behind a door or something. But even with that, I'd be happy. Especially versus cockblocking dramatic stuff(TM) happening to interrupt them. Which is honestly what I expect anyway. I love Tom and his work, but he definitely baits and cock-teases the hell out of his readers.

Was that even a saying before the invention of guns?

There's a say like that but it's "hitting yourself on the foot with a hoe"

Okay, I'll elaborate a bit: this is a magical medieval realm the comic is in, so it's a safe bet that hunting bows existed, also... there is use of magic projectiles.

So the phrasing wouldn't be misplaced since the means to do so would be available, so it can coincide easily.

I am pretty darn sure that even crossbows exist as well. I think some of the town guards used them in some of the earlier pages of this chapter.

The earliest reference I can find to shooting oneself in the foot suggests it emerged in the 1800s and referred to cowboys that were too quick on the draw and fired off before the gun was out of the holster.

There were, of course, expressions to the same effect long before: "hoist by his own petard" dates to Shakespeare, etc.

Twokinds being a fantasy comic we can't really argue whether the idiom is apocryphal, though I can't help thinking you'd have to be exceptionally clumsy to land an arrow in your own foot.

I would merely add that Twokinds also has magic spells which very easily could cause you to shoot yourself in the foot if you got distracted or had your hands slapped down mid cast.

    That is all

  • What if Tom just said "fuck it" and after all these years finally just draws the next page as just full on porn. That'd be pretty funny.

    Cockblock by plot in 3...
    Who else thinks the same?

Unfortunately I'm expecting an interruption any time now as well, its obvious thats whats going to happen as Tom would never take the story that far.

Who wants to take bets what the interruption is? My money is on the little sister.

  • Also, panel 3 (on color version) seems to feature a 16-hour clock, i don't know if that means that TK-world uses a daylength divisable into 16 "hours", or if Tom fucked up again
