I know right? Magnemite's line, Grimmer's line, all the monsters have anime eyes and cat ears and the same generic monster legs. A good chunk of gen 1 feels like they started with a template (probably Rhydon) then just added/removed/altered it until they got the desired look. Honestly I think Gens 2 and 3 had the best Pokémon designs.
Also you ought to know, since that comment seemed like it was trying to be a swipe, that I've gone on record -- on this site even -- about my opinions on Pokémon. It's well documented that I'm not huge on Gen 1 designs, but am generally more forgiving of them because there wasn't really a design ethos in the series by then.

There shouldn't be meltan nor melmetal on here since they're gen 7, and if anyone dares to say otherwise, how the hell is Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee a gen 8 game?
