  • See this is actually what I was hoping to see in the “We live here too” comic. Not that what we got wasn’t good, I’m just a sucker for lore.

  • Omg I love the use of the new 'mons.

I hope the Sandyghast and Pincurchin are friends somehow.

Hopefully the Pincurchin is ok though, looks like he's missing a spike. Guess that's why he has the name but from what I remember they don't grow back.

As I said before, you are asking for too much. This Q&A section did a better job with characterization and world building than the four running comics.

  • I'm surprised to see a dracovish here. I would think that pokémon and the others like it wouldn't show up anywhere else.

...unless of course they really did exist in the past.

What precludes someone other than that two-bit hack from magicking a Dracovish into existence as some sort of punishment?

Judging by their Pokedex entries they really did exist. How? I'm not sure. But honestly in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon it's probably safe to say that no species go extinct due to the fact the Pokemon can all (for the most part) somehow form bonds that distill rivalry.

I mean the same should go for a Pokemon like Porygon. That was a man-made Pokemon yet that exists within the world.

I'd just call it creative liberties really.

Not necessarily. Keep in mind, dex entries are written by people (probably mostly children) within the Pokemon universe so if they think these Pokemon existed at one point, they would write about it in the Pokedex. Based on their understanding (specifically Cara Liss who revives the fossils and likely wrote the entries),the Pokemon that come out of the machine are the right ones.

However, it's heavily implied that they aren't. For starters, the professor's name is literally a play on careless. Plus, being able to take the exact same half fossils and come out with 2 different species is pretty suspect. It's seems to be a reference to the Bone Wars/Great Dinosaur Rush or more directly, the Fiji Mermaid.

As far as Dracovish existing in the Wanderlust world, creative liberties sounds about right.

A Blaziken running the library, sounds like a fire hazard just waiting to happen.

    Book burning intensifies

    ...Okay, yes.

Also the hairdo kinda resembles a Rufflet's feather style. Very nice touch.
