  • This is a great example of Tom's edit-bait pieces. He KNOWS it'll be edited. He intends for it to be so. Shame e621's banning on them means it'll never be seen here.

Since when? I can still find them.

...nevermind. A shame it is indeed.

If not here, then where? I’d like to know bc there were a couple of old edits I wanted to track down

I'm glad on the edit bans... People need to work on their original stuff, rather than just draw over it.

Because we all know we can't have both. We all know if edits are allowed, we'll suddenly witness a drop in original stuff. /s

  • This is easily by far my most favorite drawing Tom has ever done. I really hope this one is chosen for a colored sketch.

So where CAN people go to find edits these days?

CORRECTO! Despite your sarcasm, you hit the issue right on the head: when given freedom to edit, the number of edits will inevitably go up.

And? I don't see the problem. We'll still have original stuff as usual.

Plus, you can always filter edits if you don't like them.

Plus plus, banning edits won't stop them from happening, they'll just get posted somewhere else. In other words, all this ban does is annoy people for no reason. It's just like if you filtered out the edits, except the filter is now forced on everyone.

You missed my point. Tom does this kind of stuff specifically intending it to be edited. Read his FAQs sometime: He gives permission for any edits of any kind to any of his art.

He knows people are going to do lewd edits and accommodates them.

You realize that there are types of artists who don't make original content, right? Banning edits just ostracizes those artists.

I haven't personally made any Two Kinds edits, but I've made a variety of others. I couldn't draw an original piece of art to save my life, but now, if I ever did make a Two Kinds edit, I couldn't share it here. That's a loss for everyone who visits e621, not a gain.
