I really feel sorry for Boss Lamb here. She's done terrible things, mostly to terrible people. But she's trying her damn hardest to put that behind her, to live, to love, and to just be at peace. But her scars are too deep, too profound. Anything can trigger her, everything may remind her of her husband or her past. It doesn't help that she isn't precisely subtle about it.

And that's why Zebra Dad is so perfect for her, and she for him. She will never judge him for anything other than his personality. And he will never hurt her. He is a lovable oaf, and she needs his love more than anything, while he needs a solid column in his (before meeting her) miserable life. Yet, she struggles. She wanted nothing more than lash out at him for bringing her husband up, but she knows he isn't ill-intentioned. She knows he lacks the knowledge she has, but it still is hard for her. But she loves her big, lovable lug more than what she hates.

She is progressing just as much as he is. He knows she likely has dark secrets but doesn't let that cloud his mind after their firsts meeting. He could've easily NOPED after the first night, but decided to stick despite the risk.

God, I love these two.
