Artist justified it by explaining that they see Machoke as kinda a dinosaur/reptile-esque type. Not sure if I agree, tbh, but Machop DOES have a tail so, I guess it's up to interpretation.

Also yeah, Obstagoon got the short end of the.. well, dick.
