So, as you've probably noticed I've been kind of on the 3D train for the last little while. Was a bit obsessed. One of the things that kept driving me forward so hard on that is that I had a lot of questions- little things I could do that might make models and animation that much better. "What if I just do this next time? Maybe I should try this neat technique I heard about? Maybe if I do this other thing, physics will behave a bit better?" And so on. Every model I made raised new questions, gave me new ideas on things I should try. I also just had lots of stuff I wanted to make! But I've finally reached the point where I've answered most of the questions I have in my head and made most of the things I want to make. Not all- but enough that the overwhelming urge to 3D has balanced out a bit with the desire to dip back into 2D.

So I decided to so some drawing de-rust, spent the last couple of days just doodling so I could remember how to freakin' draw at all, and then put this page together to force myself to finalize a few things instead of just doing half-finished scribbles. I figured Syandene would be good subject matter for this, she's only too happy to strike a wide variety of poses to share with you all, she's a bit of a show off that way. I also wanted to get comfortable with my drawing tablet, as I never really did in the first place and I figured once I do it'll make planning out paintings much easier. Well, I'm basically there now after doing all this! Feeling much more comfortable. I think spending so much time away from drawing helped me 'reset' a bit, forget some of the old bad habits a little bit so I could get better technique going more easily.

Anyway, they are in the end just some doodles, but I hope you like them! I plan to upload this at a fairly large size, larger than is really necessary for a sketch page so that if anybody wants they can take any of these doodles and colour them up. (Looks like you have to right-click and 'view image' or open in a new tab to see the full size) I know, I know... giving other people the privilege of colouring my character for me? What can I say, I'm a generous god. :P But, with the entire world going into lock down, a lot of people are a little freaked out and a lot bored. I don't really expect anyone to do it, but there are some people out there who really just like colouring inks, and if you're out one of those people and you're looking for stuff to do to take your mind of things, and one of these catches your eye, feel free to crop it out and slap some colour on it.
