Believe it or not, the M1918A2 BAR with a loaded 20-round magazine is not as heavy as most think. About as heavy as a modern SR25 Match rifle. Slow rate of fire (500-650RPM) in comparison to a modern squad level support weapon, like the M249 SAW (775RPM); big .30-06 bullet coming out of the muzzle.
