I've seen this used as a meta-justification in fanfics for always making Twilight Sparkle homosexual, regardless what orientations are chosen for the other ponies.

Not saying the reasoning is good, I was just reminded of it.

Have you seen the fan made animations? Once the the show ends (after 8 or 10 seasons)
the brony community will be big enough to produce not only its own full length episodes but multiple series.
