MemberThe robes and blindfold. With the imagery of a horrific and terrifying creature that serves a higher purpose basically reaching out to a normal personal do something. In this case it’s giving her her sammy. You know Sampson was given magic hair and was told to Lay the fuck smack into heretics, Mary was told she’d carry the messiah, and here Legoshi is being a delivery boy. And a good one at that.

MemberI get that. I was drawing comparisons to the Bible cause it’s a common thing to do do and with this artist it’s relevant. There is frequent use of biblical imagery in their work. And the Bible has multiple instances where angels are fucking terrifying. Being many headed beasts or fractal shaped amalgams of light or gem like structures. Hence why I used the Bible as an example. That would be horrifying to a regular person. That imagery is common in the Bible and the Torah. But it’s not commonly displayed to the average person cause they’d wonder who is the good guys based on how they look. And it being Vicar Amelia who was an important member of her literal church helps drive that home.
I realize my comment was weirdly written and in all honesty this one is probably written weirdly too. Thank you for not flaming me.

MemberBe not afraid! they screech with their hundred eyes and 7 wings, or something like that. The bible's got some kickass imagery even if you don't believe in it.

MemberI haven't read it so please correct me, but I don't think the Bible has that much "terrific" / "horrible" imagery... I mean, I'm just thinking about how infernal hell was introduced by Dante (or some other guy before him probably), so alot of other things might be similar.
It is pretty neat the Japanese media uses biblical references for aesthetic/cool purposes.
