After like 30+ years of "wacky dysfunctional" families who hate each other in American media, it's more rebellious to show a family who can be entertaining and have a truly loving and healthy dynamic

Despite their... "oddities" the Addams Family was exactly that. They were weird but by the end of the day they still all loved and accepted each other and didn't have any interpersonal dysfunction at all.

Which I suppose was the weirdest part about them when compared to all the other sitcom families.

This kinda portrayal is pretty common I think, reminds me a lot of the secondhand lions movie where the kind has a messed up mother who constantly dates abusive men that either abuse or make the kid uncomfortable and the kid has never had a better life than he does now living with two insane uncles who bought a live lion to hunt in their cornfield.

Hlad is like the_weaver, one day they post a cute wholesome picture of a date, the next, eldritch body horror, followed by quality porn. The only thing you can expect, is that it'll be well drawn. Plus when it comes to the more odd stuff continuity gets weird.
