  • So I have question.

Siroc is presenting a standard male dominant/female submissive sex fantasy using Finnick and Judy.

Finnick generally has the upper hand, although the power dynamic has shifted back and forth a few times now. In addition, Judy, while acquiescing to Finnick's demands is pretty apathetic in her effort and on almost every page where there's dialog she has bitched and moaned about how she's not liking what she's doing.

It reminds me of an 80s sitcom where two established characters that dislike each other are forced to go on a date and spend the entire time just going through the motions and snarking at each other.

So given the presentation so far, I'm curious if you are finding it titillating?

Yes, Siroc's artwork is well done and he's presenting a thorough BJ scene. But, it just strikes me that, especially on this site, it would be very easy to find other artwork or comics that are just as well drawn but with a female that's either more enthusiastic or more submissive.

For me, while the artwork is good, the story being told around the artwork has too many "character beats" that end up stopping the flow and ruining the mood.

For me it was Siroc's attitude from the very start of the comic. As for the power dynamic, I do see your point, it is very jarring. It seems that they are doing a page of finnick being in control, then a page of Judy.

Probably to finish off the comic with Judy just giving in to the blackmail completely or getting addicted like with doxy.

    ....

Very well put. It almost looks like Siroc did this intentionally to irritate the die hard Judy/Nick shippers.
I count myself at the fringes of that group and I generally like Siroc's art too, but this comic is just kinda odd.
At least a dimension away from "Borbaesque character assassinations"[1] and the basis for this plot is imaginable but several posters on past comic pages outlined far more plausible plotlines.

    [1] can this become a tag? ;-)

    .

It's called hesitation and it has been consistent from the start.

  • I hope there's no plans to drag in a Stockholm syndrome meme where Judy decides life is easier with Finnick, and abandons looking for Nick?

Seeing how butthurt Siroc is about Judy and nick shippers, probably will in some fashion.

"OH you extorted me for sex, I somehow can't get enough of you now!"

    Or something similar

I feel like i should just not scroll down on zootopia type art

On e6? Probably a good idea. Too many try to "defend" her character and ridicule anything that portrays her as slightly different from how she acted in the movie.

Because fan content still has to be faithful for some weird reason they refuse to explain.

It's actually pretty simple. When you have characters that you've grown to love from any source (movies, comics, anime, etc), you kinda want to see them continue having the qualities that initially drew you to them even in later adventures.

Of course, fan content often bends the qualities of Nick and Judy so the artist/writer can explore different situations with those characters, but when done well, even when things are different, there's still an aspect of those characters that "rings true" to their core personalities. That's where you have artist like robcivecat or akiric that feature sexually graphic stories where Nick and Judy still feel like Nick and Judy.

When you have a fan work that bends the qualities of Nick and Judy so much that it breaks, you end up with a caricature of the original characters and they become Nick and Judy in name only.

Scenarios like this leaves most fans wondering why the artist/writer bothered using Nick and Judy in their work at all. So they either abandon the work or vocalize their criticism.

Because Canon Judy is already a positive by the book kind of character. The only other way fans can portray her as is negative, loosely promiscuous, and generally brash or even bitchy. These arent attractive traits.

I totally get what you mean. I am entertained and kinda cheer for Judy but it does snap me out of raunchy fantasy stuff. But then it gets horny again
