    It is possible that they are not locked in the middle like regular panties. They could either have a weighted part in the middle, keeping it stuck more securely in the gap, or some kind of sticking factor to them, which would work somewhat like with weak magnets. Just on scales instead.

    The sudden thickness of the line between the legs should denote to you that those are in fact separate legs. Sure, there's a thin line from waist upward, but it's a thin, texture line, not a thick, separate objects line
