MemberI have weird feelings about this. Assassins trying to finish the job ? Or is our sweet lil kitty a bit too much on the defensive ?

Triko the trico
MemberShe's disoriented and confused due to being shot in the head (hence the bandages) so yeah a little bit too protective of herself.
Covargo
MemberHmmm why would he want her to stop touching the draw he wouldn't know what's inside it.
lacergunn
MemberI'm getting the feeling these 3 are actual threats.
GreaseWeasel
MemberI mean. I don’t see no warrant. They broke into her house so...
ShadowsEdge32
MemberI dunno, the rabbit looks concerned and the guy in the back looks like he's just trying to stay out of the way. I think the only real threat here is Micco, the grin in the third panel gives me super bad vibes
Shunka Warakin
MemberI don't get 'concerned' vibes from the rabbit, I get 'srs bsns'. Boggart, behind him, doesn't look comfortable.
Also, Micco's statement to her isn't de-escalation at all. No 'calm down, we just wanted to talk' or anything similar one might expect if the forced break-in wasn't an assassination/threat. As a cop, he ought to have some expectation of what she'd be reaching for. The lack of de-escalation is nearly a provocation...
"She pulled a gun on us, she was crazy, you remember her at the hospital!"
SecondWind
MemberThey're almost certainly there to hurt/kill her. The last time they interacted was when Micco was refusing to pay his tab at a diner and ended with him storming off and being upset about her being the boss's favorite fuckin' fine china.
Besides, the best case here is they entered the home and bedroom of someone they know to be acting extremely aggressively, completely unannounced and are, again, at best, not deescalating the situation and at worst are provoking her. That's pretty bad in all regards so even if it turns out that they aren't there to hurt her, I think she's completely justified in how defensive she's being.

MemberIt's effective storytelling for sure. Clearly Jonesy's not well after being shot in the head, but she also has every reason to be mistrustful after her ordeal and the ambiguity of her paranoia lends real tension to the scene.

MemberThe artist's description of this page fits perfectly. I literally said "Oh no" as soon as i saw the first panel.
