Hm, must be something goin' over my head.
I don't know what makes this image cursed or why its downvoted so much.

Netflix had a movie on there called "Cuties" (I think), that sexualized minors. The drawing above is a parody of one of the posters from the movie. IDK what the movie was about, but that's the gist I got from the little bit that I've read about it from Twitter and Discord.

French film was taken in and announced on netflix’s twitter called “Cuties” with a description saying some girl (11) falls in love with a dance group and the art of twerking. The film itself is said to not be anything disturbing, but the way netflix’s cover art for the film portrays the girls in a manner that’d be more fitting for adults +18. I didn’t really get into it, i just read some tweets and used what i know :p.

Totally underage explicit art tagged as "cub": Nice
Safe parody of non-explicit underage art: WRONG

This is a derivative work of something that is arguably actual child sexual exploitation. It is more reasonable to have a problem with this picture than one which is produced entirely from fictional characters in fictional scenarios.

Ah yes, thank you for informin' me, I heard of the movie Cuties before hand but I did't make the connection to the image here.
Yeeeeah... I do like hands-off approaches some companies do with what content is put on their platform, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

  • Honestly I downvoted because I'm hoping Dr. Chaos just sees the number and not the negative mark.

So which one of them is the supposed to be the girl from emotionally repressive family of evil religions conservatives?

Problem is, you've both got a point.

From what I understand the actual cuties movie isn't terribly exploitative, (thought I have no intention of watching it to confirm that) but the advertising push on netflix specifically was real weird and creepy.

As for why this is downvoted to hell where other cub content isn't, well it's a big site with a lot of users, so a safe image with licensed characters casts a wider net for people to find it distasteful and make their opinion of it known with the provided utility.

Because this reminds of a real movie where real children are sexualy exploited

Except; the film itself was a social commentary on how young people and especially young girls are exploited by powerful people in the entertainment industry. It was poorly executed though, so yeah.

That aside, this is a well-done parody.
