Description

WebM conversion of parent flash.

I'm back and happy to present this fan animation based on Nagabe's "Escalate" one shot.

I read it this spring and was so deeply moved I had to express it in some way. This animation came out rather spontaneously, without much planning, and I was hesitant to complete it for months after initial work was done but here it is now!

Thanks for being patient with me, I was taking a break from social media for past couple months and was investing my time and effort in more traditional kinds of art which i hope to show pretty soon, and more animations of course, so stay tuned!

I was deeply moved, I wish i was able to make a short film based on Escalate/Monotone Blue. Maybe someday ;v;

Fun fact: This was pretty much done in May. Finishing touches were done recently.
Adding music was last minute decision, I always had this track in mind while working but wasn't sure about using it. I didn't timed any animation for it specificly, very surprised how well it "fit".

    Twitter version is compressed to hell so discarded that immidiately.
    With flash version, for some reason the video is downscaled on fly from 720p to 540p and from 24 FPS to 12 FPS which results some scaling artifacting, luckily the video is pretty great quality so both of those are fixed in this version. Audio was 32kbps MP3 so not much that can be done with that.
    Additionally removed the black frame from beginning and end to avoid huge contrast flash when looping and make it loop smoothly as the video clearly fades in and out of white it was most likely encoding hiccup from artist.

    I did not understand most of that so i'm just going to say Nice Video and go away.

    i hope the artist makes more of that comic, it seemed to cut off so anticlimactically.

    His name is "Aoi" from Nagabe's "Monotone Blue" and "Escalate (One Shot)" but i'm crap with making tags go into the right fields
