4 characters (really 5 but no one cares about chapter 1 guy).

    SPOILERS

    1) Saria Trace's late wife who died before the comic started. Later appeared as a ghost.

    2) Alaric Kieth's best friend. Let go of Keith who grabbed him to prevent him falling to his death when the bridge they were on collapsed since Kieth wasn't strong enough to pull both of them up.

    3) Laura Keith's former fiance put herself in mortal danger to allow the group to end the plans of the Templar. Died of internal injuries. Returned as an illusion the next chapter.

4)Rose Trace's keidran wolf that worked for Trace and Saria after being saved from execution. Technically was also dead since the start of the comic used as a power source/ sapient AI of Trace's mansion.

    5) chapter 1 guy. Stole trace's memories and sealed his magic exploded by Trace via black magic attack.

    5) If you're talking about the mask, Ephemural, you're not quite right. Ephemural is somewhat alive and influencing events. She's the very reason Trace and Flora could even have a child, she's just in a different part of reality right now.

How is the mask the reason she can have a child with Trace? If you don't want to explain point me to the page numbers.

They appear to be some sort of deity-like beings for the world.

    It's on Page 206.
Ephemural appears to be a god-like being which holds power over the humans, basitin and keidren, which is also the reason why Nora never fully transforms into one of these and always keeps some dragon traits when she does.

What does Nora's transfomations have to do with Ephemural? Nora has been described as being very prideful of being a dragon, and that's why she likes to keep some dragon parts.

In canon she only shifts to four-legged creatures because bipedal ones are unnatural for her to walk as, and she doesn't like it. Reni also mentions the difficulty in walking on two legs.

It always is and will be difficult to get over a death.

Hell it's difficult to even bring up the topic half the time

It's a lie that time heals all wounds. All time does is form a scab, which can lessen the sharpness of the pain as times goes on, but the pain is always there.

Nora specifically avoids taking human, keidran or basitin forms, due to those species' connection to the masks - the demigods of those three races.

I'd forgotten about that on her character sheet. The comic explained it simply as her refusing to use a bipedal form because it was difficult for her to do so.

I think it certainly has to do with her pride, as well as the possibility that if she was 100% transformed, maybe the masks would gain influence over her.

That's why it's said that it "heals" and not "erases". The scar will remain and hurt from time to time. It's all in our psychology, one of the best ways to increase our tolerance to pain is to transform it into something pleasant, either by suggestion, by thinking in a reward or any trick that may work for you.

Like they say: look on the bright side.

Edit: for example, when I was doing PT in highschool, they were pretty demanding. At that time, I wanted to join the military (I do not live in the US) so that was my focus, and helped me to keep up and end up among the best of the class.

A more blunt and simple technique was used when I had a bad teeth and the pain was killing me but I was at work and had to finish my shift. I just convinced myself by focusing all my thoughts in it, that the pain was actually pleasant. It didn't magically erase the pain, but I was surprised how much bearable it became.

The same happened when I lost loved ones. I gave my emotions full control for a couple of days, cry, scream, anything I felt like doing. After it, I started to focus in the good memories just like you see a photo of a nice travel, knowing it is in the past but it still brings you happiness just by thinking in it. And anytime that a negative thought popped up in my mind, I would overwrite it with the happy one.
