That's not a violin, you know... that's either a Cello, or more likely, a string bass.

There's an endpin and it's sticking out quite far... looks like a cello to me.
Though I may be biased because I play one.

I play cello, too, and the size comparison is about right to me.
People often argue it's a contrabass, however, and I can see that sometimes, depending on how it's illustrated end pin-wise and tuning pegs-wise.
