  • God, I love these two so much man. Like, these two mean a whole lot to me. They were my first ever true otp of anything. They were the first couple of anything video game or animation that I looked up fanart for. Of fanfics, of lewd stuff for. Spyro and Cynder's relationship was, as far as I can remember, the first thing that gave me the big push to start exploring stuff like that, my first step into furry/scalie, my first exposure to growing up sexually. They were what started it all for me. So they really do mean a whole lot to me.
On top of all of that, they still are one of my favorite video game couples ever, Cynder being one of my favorite video game waifus ever as well. They're cute, they're well written and developed, and so much more. They just warm my heart, and I hope to everything that people never forget about them.

  • The only thing I can't help but notice and regret noticing now is... Cynder's head is kind of pinned there because her horns have definitely gone straight into the bed.

They also appear to have had their wings cut off

i like to think for things like this that she's subconsciously phasing her horns with her Shadow power

I don't want to spoil your happiness, but canonically they are not a couple, are just friends.

Canonically Cynder outright confessed her love to Spyro, we'll never know his answer but Word of God was they became a couple.

it doesn't matter if it's canonical or not, what matters is that they are very hot together.

Umm... Have you ever played Dawn of the Dragon? Spoilers but after the final boss fight with Malefor, right before Spyro pulls the crumbling world back together in the Earth's core, she literally says, in a whisper, "I love you".

    Don't believe me?

I don't know what more proof you need, man. I mean yes, there's no real implication afterwards that they officially got together or not other than an ending cutscene of them being revealed they both survived and flying around together. There's no official proof, but it's enough to be a big implication.

the great possibilities of this "i love you" being only in the sense of (friendship).

    I played the whole game.

I mean, I guess I can see where you're coming from. But most of us saw it in the romantic sense. Rarely does "I love you" mean anything less than what it means. Yes, Spyro and Cynder's friendship is definitely in that range where it'd be totally cool to say that, I say that to a bunch of my guy friends because they mean a lot to me so yes, it doesn't have to be romantic. But in that situation, where Spyro and Cynder knew that they would most likely die, and have a very slim chance of surviving, I'm pretty sure the "I love you" Cynder gave was for real. Especially after having more than enough time to officially fall for Spyro through all three games in the New Trilogy (3 to 5 years of knowing and working with him if I'm remembering correctly).

If you thought it might be your last chance to say what you felt to your partner in saving the world, especially after you both have gone through very emotional things together, i.e. loosing a father figure or dealing with your dark past (and remember, they're both still teenagers in Eternal Night and DotD, so emotional stuff shouldn't be and isn't easy for them), I think you'd say "I love you" last second and mean it as well.

So, what happened was that I noticed the problem once I had already sketched the pose, and I liked it as it was so I didn't wanna change it~ I mentioned it in the original post

Not sure I've ever made a comment on this site yet, but SAME, DUDE. If you search "spyro cynder sex" and go to the oldest images, those are what I was getting off to in middle school in 2012, as weird as that probably sounds.

Like, I barely know anything about these two dumb little dragons, and yet if it wasn't for them, I may never have developed such a big ol fetish for dragons, and perhaps my sona wouldn't even be a dragonpony. (Yeah, I ended up a brony, but I couldn't give up dragons entirely...)

I just now bought the DS version of Spyro and the Eternal Night to play through, someday I'm gonna have to get the console versions so I can properly experience the story of these two...

I have to agree with you there spyro and Cynder we're the first couple I had ever really seen and they are what convinced me that I am a furry and I love furry stuff. I played through the Legend of Spyro dawn of the dragon more times than I can remember and the "I Love You" at the end is what made me cry that the game was over seeing the credits but the after credit scene made me happy. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever see anything like that trilogy again.
