Oh God. This poor kid. I wish I could say this is exaggerated, over-the-top, but it's all the more horrifying because this is exactly the sort of thing that really happens. Even with good parents, if they're both busy much of the time, or if the kid doesn't have much of a social life, sometimes even if everything is going okay, this is a reality for way too damn many kids. That everyone in this comic is human just drives home that this isn't a comic about anthros, it's a comic about furries, and I think that it helps imprint the gravity better that way.

Just so y’all are in the know, check the furaffinity and inkbunny pages comments and descriptions. The comic is based on various other people’s experiences (and fiction), including the author herself who was 7 at the time

There's a disconnect with this character and how I grew up, since I was exposed to porn/grooming starting age seven. I decided to use age eleven as the starting point because that's the average age for the majority of underage victims of sexual assault that I've encountered that had also been groomed (which is anecdotal, but it gives me a good idea of how to handle the story and topics). There were some that knew of porn, many who did not. With the internet, it makes it easier to explore and develop your interests by yourself, but as soon as you start talking to an adult in the community, they can start imposing their sexual preferences onto you and manipulating you in an age where you're vulnerable and highly susceptible to such a thing. Especially children who want to be needed/loved and seek that attention from adults online...The internet can help people discover who they are, but it can also ruin them. If there is one valuable lesson I've learned with life, it is that even the worst of negative circumstances can have positive results, positive lessons. I wouldn't ban my child from a computer, but I would do my best to make sure nothing like this happened. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. However, if it didn't happen to me, I would not be making this comic.

I always forced myself into grooming as a kid to try to find some self worth in the form of strangers online telling me im cute, and up until now I never thought those people where bad and I supported pedophilia, this comic is starting to slowly change that feeling, thanks

Pedophiles who keep their fetish to themselves and limit it to fake art only (no touching kids!) and contribute to society are alright. It's possible to like cub art or loli and not be a stain to society in my honest opinion.

Because nobody has ever escalated from "fake art" to an actual interest in "the real deal" for any fetish that happens to be possible IRL, right? Everyone is 100% capable of separating sexual fantasies about "fake things" from the same fantasies IRL, right?

It's not like this isn't a story we've all heard dozens of times; how "Looking at furry porn about X was what made me understand my own personnal connection with it" and such. It's the theme of the goddamn comic!
