The interactions of Popular Girls, Jocks and Nerds is the same throughout all of nature, and their behavior can be easily observed in their natural habitat from a safe distance.

Hey sorry for the lack of posting so far this month! My colorist Raptie had a bit of a crazy month, but the next two pages are just about ready to post, so you're in for a busy week of post-Xmas triple-comicpages!

Thanks to caedere for handling the character colors/shading!

yeah, as opposed to all the other provinces and races, who all just want to get along and make flower crowns, right?

Who needs mods to ignore the story? When I played Skyrim, the literal end of the world took backseat to fashion souls and gold.

Rush Azura's quest, turn it to the Black Star, and never have to worry about finding quality souls for the rest of the game. With all the bandits running around, you'll have more than enough Grand Souls to spare!

Naw. Most everyone in the Skyrim game is horrifically racist.

Wowee, that sounds like a cool game, which one is that? Because that game's nowhere in sight right now.

Yeah but they didn't go far enough, would have been hilarious for race specific slurs besides kahjiits being called no more than thieving strays, I want halo level slurs like "split-lips" when referring to sanghelli

I'll simply take consistency: All the other kahjiits are kept outside the cities, yet no-one bats an eyelash about a player kahjiit, or argonians aren't allowed in Windhelm, but the player argonian can live there. It's nonsense.

Oh, and bandits tend to have the most race-specific lines. And some of them are golden.

Most rpg and story driven games are written with those elements included, part of what makes a compelling narrative in those games. Examples off the top of my head are: Fallouts 1, 2, and New Vegas; the Mass Effect series; Dead Space (2 in particular), etc.

Not sure what makes it nonsense -- it tracks very well with real-world racism. If you can skip the stumbling blocks on the road to being Powerful and Important by way of being a fucking destined hero with literal divine bloodlines, in a setting where the gods step down on earth now and then to get something done, then racism can be bent surprisingly easily for the logistics of power. All you have to do is be "one of the good ones."

It's impossible to argue with the existence of Unrelenting Force, especially when your boss can use the Thuum himself and can recognize the real shit when he sees it. And then it doesn't matter that the bloodline chose a damn Argonian, divinity does what divinity wants, clearly there must be a good reason. Now what's much more important is, how can we make this work for us?

Your very right. The thing is, you don't NEED to be revealed as dragonborn for the overwhelming majority of the game. I know, I've been trying to see how far I can get without being the dragonborn: The only part of the game that requires you be dragonborn is 1 DLC, 1 mission of the civil war, and the main quest.

That means they just don't care what the player is, for some reason. That, and I'm not impressed by the ability to shout: So many draugr use it that I'm almost convinced it was a party trick in their time.

I feel like you're getting selection bias there -- ancient Nords who could Shout were much, much more likely to be honored with the intricate barrow burial sites, and also the magical preservation elements that are important to reviving later on.

And yeah it's definitely true that you can do a ton of stuff without unlocking the Dragonborn's abilities, but the story's also almost certainly intended for you to head up to High Hrothgar fairly fast, so I'm trying to gauge it based on that.

I'm just now realizing how odd Skyrim's plot kinda is. "Deathrow criminal escapes actual death incarnate, kills a dragon thus discovering they're the chosen one, and goes to be trained by a borderline cult of old men with magic voices". How they never question if they did too much skooma is beyond me.

My favorite secret fact is that every Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind has had a condemned criminal as the lead character. Two of which have gone on to be divine heroes, and the third might as well be.

So, wait... does that mean that bandits aren't people? You specifically need a black soul gem to trap a sentient creature like humans and elves!

The Black Star is a grand soul gem, that has infinite uses. Normal soul gems crumble to dust after the souls inside them are used up.

Black Souls are equivalent to Grand Souls, but they can't be contained inside of White Soul Gems.

You specifically need a Black Soul Gem to trap them.

If bandits can be trapped inside regular soul gems, that means bandits aren't considered people. They're some kind of animal, or monster!

Okay, I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to say. All black souls in the Elder Scrolls setting are Grand rank.

In Oblivion, there was an altar where you could transform Grand Soul Gems into Black Soul Gems during a certain phase of the moon.

And I was trying to tell you that ALL black souls are of Grand quality. In Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, you could transform a Grand Soul Gem into a Black Soul Gem, but only on certain days of the month, and only at the site of a specific altar of necromancy.

We don't know why the souls of mortals (as in people) are treated differently to the souls of animals and Daedra. But a White Soul Gem can not contain a mortal's soul for some reason. They can only contain animals, monsters and Daedra.

Yes, you kept saying "as if it were a grand soul" - which doesn't make any sense, because ALL black souls are considered grand quality. So saying that it traps them "as if they were grand" is weird.

Doesn't matter how many times you repeat yourself, it still didn't make any sense why you would say it.

You weren't talking about anything, and that's the problem.

I was talking about the black star. if quality was all that mattered, the game would make no distinction and never use the term "black soul". you CHOSE to ignore this.

I didn't ignore it, I tried multiple times to explain to you that black souls in the game are considered Grand quality, and you kept repeating the black star can trap their souls as if it were a grand soul gem. Then I told you that black soul gems are Grand soul gem quality, as they can even be made from grand soul gems.

Then you went into some nonsense about how you're not talking about the quality of the soul or whatever.

Black Soul Gems are grand quality soul gems.

Black Souls are grand quality souls.

Azura's Star is a Grand quality soul gem.

The Black Star is a corrupted version of Azura's Star.

Using the phrase "as if it were" grand is unnecessary, because that would imply that you're saying the black star is similar to a grand soul gem, instead of actually being a grand soul gem.

Did that finally get through to you? Because I can not think of a simpler way to explain the situation!

again, not referring to quality. if i was, all grand soul gems would store black souls as well. there would be no need for a black soul gem.
