Negative Colour Challenge - "The Creator"
Here's an idea I've been wanting to play with for a long time! I finally got inspired with a particular idea so I picked up my pencils and got to work. I -love- the result, it looks awesome. I might do more pictures like this just for fun!
Here's the idea- you draw and colour a picture like you normally would, with one difference- when the picture is finished, you flip the image into negative using any digital image manipulation program you happen to have on hand. The catch is, you draw the picture in such a way so that the final negative version looks "right".
In my example, I set out to draw a standard red fox, making some green grass pop up as she walks along. So in reality I had to colour her blue, making red grass pop up as she walks. Where I wanted lighter colours I had to colour darker, and vice versa.
I love how this looks, it was a lot of fun, and it only took me about an hour to do it! I'd absolutely love to see some other artists out there give it a shot. If you do end up trying it, feel free to link it here, I'd love to see! If you'd like to see some other people give it a shot, feel free to spread the word. I just think it was a neat little project and that artists out there would have a lot of fun trying it out.
To any digital artists wanting to try this challenge out, there's one extra rule- no cheating! You guys can flip the image back and forth at will to look for any issues or mistakes, but that sorta makes the whole idea moot. No flipping the image to negative until you're ready to call it finished.

MemberStunning! The eye just seems to pop out of the page. I love how Ruaidri's style can look perfect in elegant pictures like this, while still looking just as perfect in pictures where a fox takes a dildo as big as his calf.
