If by "like a girl" you mean covering up his chest with his arms, well, old habits die hard, I suppose. Given how rarely he does the whole noody thing, I could see that being a sort of unconscious response to the spook.

Plus, at least one of the camp supervisors told him that showing his bare chest would be "inappropriate". 🙄

If they leave without being caught, the camp staff could think that the lightbulb went out on it's own and no one would get in trouble.

Well, there was little to no regard for destruction of objects involved, but there also wasn't much distance involved either, so this must be a kobyeet.
