It's a workaround. The story addresses issues that exist within the fandom, but since there's only one actual animal character in the story it's required for it to be considered relevant by the mods.

Ah yes Elf MLK and Gandhi.. I will never understand why some exceptions to the apparent ‘no human’ rule arent allowed. I don’t even get why that rule exists.
