MemberSo it's only ok to hurt Leto now?
vladspellbinder
MemberThe thing about hypocrites is they often don't care they are being hypocritical. It's perfectly alright for her to hurt him but not the other way around. Because reasons.
Runescythe9852
MemberI honestly hope karma comes back to bite her in the ass real hard ten fold for what she has done.

MemberHonestly, feels like Leto's mom kicking him out to live with his Dad would be better than staying.
WhoWillRemember
BlockedI hope that turns out to be true. She claims he left her because of Leto and this comic has proven to be very dark (as we all knew it would be), so I'm really hoping that there wasn't any truth to that and that his dad getting full custody for the last less than two years of his life as a minor is going to be a blessing.
It was stated on the page when he was flying out to help the people hurt by the hurricane disaster that the day he boarded the plane, he turned 16. He's at least a few months older than that now.
Endor-7th
MemberSeems it might go hopefully well, he's seemingly a lot more caring now... then again so did mom for a moment at the airport.
ZenZennyZen
MemberYeah, but it just seems like between the two parents, his mother's got way more issues that she either isn't willing to or doesn't know how to deal with (possible alcoholism only being the most obvious), at least not with taking them out on Leto. Then again, he's been living with her since the divorce and is (presumably) around her more often, but we don't see as much of his father aside from that one visit where he gave him a new laptop. So then again, for all we know his father might be up to his neck in all sorts of shit himself that both Leto and we as the audience just don't know about yet.
Jayfiregrowlithe
MemberIdk, having the dad be the better parent when you're under custody of a shitty mother is pretty realistic (Speaking from my experiences so take with a grain of salt, but custody battles are biased against fathers and evidence against bad mothers tend to be shucked off so...). Most of the abuse regarding Leto is through his mother, as in the earliest pages he mentions that his mom says that it's better he didn't exist and says it a lot to have him dwell on it for probably years, and when the dad moves out Leto says he's done more than his mother like give him hugs (not A hug, hugs) and helping him with schoolwork even if it wasn't able to be frequent. Hell even in the few pages we see him with his father together, he asks for Leto's well-being and gifts him his own computer. We've not seen anything suggesting the father is bad in some way even if secretly.
I don't think there's any feigning with the dad there. I get that Grim has a rep for always being dark in comics, but not everything has to be a "gotcha" either.

MemberI'm beginning to see why she slapped you.
ElSorroPintado
MemberWhen my dad hit me, I fought back because he could take it, but when my mom raised her hand against me, I just held whatever she was using against me to get her to stop. I know the way my parents raised me wasn't the way that I wanted to be raised, but common etiquette taught me that girls are weaker than guys and that I should never hit a woman unless my life was in danger. You must've not been raised well whatsoever with that mentality and attitude.

MemberIts crazy how accurate this comic is. Its obvious its not just some mock up or an attempt to bring light to a situation but really. Deeply experienced.
Nobody wants to get deep into it, I left home on my 18th, escorted by cops to live with my dad. This comic is intense..
Preston Garvey232
MemberWhy the fuck is the comment section for this comic always in shambles or support for child abusers/molesters?
GhostRecon99
MemberHis mother seems like a textbook gaslighter. I only say this because I've seen signs like this before.
