i think you all are just taking it a bit much, here, Leto goes to sleep, Leto "wakes up" in a dream, hell the environment didn't even look right, it has a nightmarish vibe to it. and then if there was a fire, and you were in the area its at, the whole room would be filled with smoke, hell even if they're wasn't smoke near them they would still be coughing and choking badly.
