Well, you're amazing at expressions so that is a great start! You can get away with a lot artistically if you can tell the characters are expressing and experiencing.
Other than that, I'm not sure what advice I can give. Her palm could be a different color than her fur? Maybe some light shading? Really I'm a bit jealous consider how my own first attempts at adult art went. So many do-overs and restarts...
